Motorcycle Show to Benefit Peter Lavery Scholarship Fund

On December 31, 2004, Newington Master Police Officer Peter J. Lavery was mortally wounded in the line of duty while responding to a domestic dispute.

Peter was a Police Officer in the Town of Berlin for five years. He then joined the Newington Police Department where he became a Field Training Officer and a member of the Department’s Motorcycle Unit. Peter served 20 years with the Connecticut National Guard retiring as a Major.

Peter was well known for his friendly demeanor and lived in Berlin with his family.

Because of his service to the community and his keen interest in motorcycles, all of the day’s proceeds from the Berlin Blues Festival Motorcycle Show will be donated to the Newington Master Police Officer Peter J. Lavery Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Please consider making a donation to this scholarship fund through Mary Pacyna 860-828-6577, ext 158, or mail to Berlin High School, 139 Patterson Way, Berlin, Connecticut 06037. Checks should be made out to "Newington Master Police Officer Peter J. Lavery Memorial Scholarship Fund".
