Come rain or shine, the Berlin Lions Music Festival will be the best show in town. Previously known as the Berlin Blues Festival it had been dubbed as "Central Connecticut's Premier Music Festival." This years festival will feature a variety of national and local blues, country, and rock and roll bands. Music that everyone will enjoy. Thousands will turn out for a day filled with great food and entertainment.

The festival is sponsored by the Berlin Lions Club and it's many sponsors. Lions members from the Berlin Lions Club along with Lions from all over Connecticut gather together to provide a well kept venue and great food and snacks. This year the event will be held to benefit the Connecticut Lions Low Vision Center and C.R.I.S. Radio.

The Low Vision Center is located in New Britain, CT. The center's goal is to maintain or enhance the quality of life for people experiencing the emotional trauma of newly diagnosed blindness or low vision. Most of their clients are over age 65 and affected by uncorrectable vision loss such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, and blindness related to stroke. The Low Vision Center provides therapy, referrals, devices and support to help these people maintain their dignity and independence.

C.R.I.S. the Connecticut Radio Information System, Inc. is Connecticut's Talking Newstand for the Blind and Print Handicapped. C.R.I.S. is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing information from daily newspapers and current magazines to blind and print-handicapped citizens throughout Connecticut, free of charge. C.R.I.S. programs keep people informed on the news in the world, nation, state, and their local community, and has proven to be vital resource for individuals who are unable to read printed material.

In the event of rain, the festival will be held indoors on site with room for 900 in the audience.

The official hotel of the Berlin Blues Festival is the Days Inn. Less than two miles from the festival, limited rooms are available at a special rate of $65.00 per night. Contact The Days Inn at 860-828-4181 and mention the Berlin Lions Music Festival to receive this special rate.
